500,000 miles on a Harley
This guy went around the world on a 1994 Harley. In his travels, he list all of the repairs that where needed during the 15 year journey. I think it says a lot about the Harley engine of that time. Interesting reading.

500,000 km, or roughly 310,000 mi. Still impressive.

Cool story! That's kilometers though, not miles. But I love stories like this - ride it to death is what these bikes were meant to do. I plan to do the same, except in the US and Canada. By next June I'll have over 100,000 miles on this bike and that's just nicely broken in!

Not to be too picky, but you may want to rename the thread either "500,000 kilometers on a Harley" or "310,686 miles on a Harley"

On March 2nd, 2010 Dave Zien rode to his 130th World Record. He rode 135,037 miles in one year.

The story is in his repairs in the African desert and Mongolia and such, not the miles or the bike.
"310k miles on a Harley with only 2 engine rebuilds, a slew of cam failures and frame re-welds, but no tranny issues to date."
That's only 22k miles per year. Granted, it's over a decent period of time and across the globe, but it's not that many miles.

Too picky...
Good story. What a great life to have when you can just ride your bike all over the place.
