Stage 2 is not a download, that usually means it's had some sort of motor work (cams, 103 kit)
Stage 1 can mean several things too from
mufflers
mufflers and A/C change
mufflers & A/C & a computer download
full exhaust change with A/C and computer down load
ect ect, you get the idea
I doubt if the guy knew what he was talking about.
Most any down load usually has the Red Line moved up to 6,200 r.p.m.s

there are groups of modifications that are marketed in stages such as stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, stage 4. After the work indicated in the stage package is completed, and adjustment to the ECM is needed .....this adjustment is in the form of a download that your dealer loads into your ECM. So yes, there is such a thing as a stage 2 down load, but it is only required if a stage 2 hardware upgrade package was installed. also, when we say stage 1,2,3,4 we mean as defined by Harley....not equiv thinking.
