Voltage issue. Maybe
I have a 09 ultra with 31k miles. I recently completed a 2k mile road trip and had a small issue. The last 20 miles of interstate driving with the motor turning 29k RPMs my volt meter started bouncing between 11.5 and 14.0 volts. After leaving the interstate and running 2200 RPMs the voltmeter went back to its normal 13.5 volts. And gave no additional problems for the remaining 20 miles. I will not that is was 99 deg. out that day 110 on the fairing gauge.
Subsaquent riding has yealded interesting results. Startup 13.5 volts with motor speed 1200 RPMs. When riding for first 10miles 13.5 volts at 2200-2900 RPMs when idling 900 RPMs at lights it drops to 13.0 ish.
After 20+miles of riding the volts remain 13.5 at 2200-2900 RPMs. But when idling 900 (it may dip down to 850 ish) RPMs it will drop to 12.0 ish volts.
Now to be honest I don't know if the the other stuff is normal and I am just hyper awar because of the bouncing issue. I did the stator test in the sticky and it checked out fine, but the bike had cooled a bit by the time I tested. I have NOT tested the regulator. Do you think the primary oil temp could be an issue? The is NOT CEL or battery light. All oil is changed every 5k (oil is cheaper than parts), this is the first time I have used Mobil1 20/50 in motor and primary and 75/90 in trans. Sorry if this is long, any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.

Sounds like a stator is starting to burn out.
Fore safety sake. Disconnect battery ground.
Unplug the stator from the Voltage regulator.
Use a multi meter on the OHMS setting.
Read each of the leads to each other and each lead to ground.
If either shows a open between leads (or not the correct reading)
or shows a short to ground, Time for a stator.
If you have right tools it's not a hard job.
When the stator starts getting hot for prolonged intervals it starts breaking down.
You can also do the voltage reading with the bike running per manual.
But I bet the stator is going on vacation!
As to correct readings, look in YOUR service manual.
