I just purchased a 2012 street glide. Absolutely love it!!!! But I want more out of the stereo. At this point I would like to stick with just fairing speakers, may put speakers in the bags later but for now my question is what speaker/ amp combo will give me the most sound, (I'm talking full range, not just highs and a small amount of mids.) I not real concerned about price. I dont want to sacrifice any sound quality to save a few dollars.

I have an Arc Audio M-PAK-4 system for sale that includes:
  • (1) KS125.2 Mini
  • (1pr) KS5026 6.5" Coaxial Speakers
  • (1pr) 6.5" Speaker adapter rings
  • (1) Harley Motorcycle wire and installation kit
  • (1) Step by Step Installation Manual
This system is brand new and includes the full 1 year warranty. It is a great sounding system and includes the plug & play Harley wiring harness. The amp is ready for more speakers when you you get to that point. See all the details at http://www.arcaudio.com/product-page...cle/mpak4.asp#.

I will take $390 for the complete kit including shipping to the lower 48. PM me.

The system vickers1 has is a good starting point. I would suggest more power. I have a JL Audio five channel amp with four channels bridged to two for the fairing speakers. I highly recommend the JL Audio amps and speakers.

And getting rid of the HK head unit is another step in the direction of better sound.

After having an arc amp I will not have another....they are nothing special. JL Audio is better from all aspects except size...anything more than 2 channels need to go in the bag..
I run critical mass speakers, they aint cheap but they arw nice.....

I got a JL xd400/4 under the fairing along with JL 6.5" speakers in the fairing and in the lowers. Sounds pretty good but there are better speakers out there, like focals. The Boom/Arc/hogtunes/JM/biketronics/... are OK plug and play setups but ya really get more bang for the buck and sound with real audio components imho.

Pictures of that 400/4 in the fairing by chance? I have the JL XD200/2 in the fairing and that was a damn tight fit so I didnt think the 400 would even be close! I even took a Dremel tool and cut the little feet off of my amp to give myself another 1/2 inch of space. I'm running the Focal CVX 6.5's in the front fairing which have a built in crossover... they sound great! I'm running the marine grade Polk Audio 6X9's in the bag lids and they are decent for $150 but I think I'm going to upgrade those to something a little higher qualitity... especially if I can fit a 400/4 in my fairing

After screwing around with plug and play stuff with inadequate speakers and power, and spending way too much money (it's a learning experience right?), I now have a RF PBR300x2 powering HAT Imagine 6.5"s in the fairing with RF T-1652-S midwoofers in the lowers wired in parallel @2 ohms. For the time being, I am powering the rear RF T152's with the stock radio outputs and it ROCKS.

I have a RF PBR300x4 that I might be selling to replace it with another PBR300x2 that I will use to power the rears and pickup a set of HD lids with RF T1572's and wire them in 2 ohm as well. That will be a winter project unless I get the bug...

I like the PBR300x2 because it is much more versatile and you can roll off the high pass filter at 50Hz which is where most of these speakers midbass drivers go to anyway.
