Default Sure ruined my ride....

Was riding thru town yesterday morning about 8am (and going about 35 - 40 mph)and everything was nice......then I got hit in the forehead with a bee or wasp. It got caught in my glasses and stung me in the eyelid. trying to avoid traffic and could not get my glasses off to rub my eye without wrecking. Finally got glasses off and rubbed eye for relief. Fortunately only had about a half-mile to go to destination. Today, eye is swollen shut, so no riding today at least.

Damn.....always watching for deer and other critters.... never thought much about a bee!! Could've been a lot worse though. Just thought I'd share my misery with everyone!

One-eye.

I got one inside my helmet were it stung multiple times. That was fun also. But the eye?...not good.

Ouch! I myself have never gotten stung like that. Just the other day a friend here got hit by a wasp. He was stung in the face, then it went down his shirt underneath his jacket and stung him on his belly several times before he could kill it. Cagers, deer, hogs, dogs, and stinging insects are always out there to mess up an otherwise nice ride! Ride safe!

Default Always Wear Goggles

That is why I always wear goggles! I have a pair of Harley transitions sunglass/goggles tha I wear ALL THE TIME WHEN RIDING DAY OR NIGHT! They were a bit pricy but have become a staple in my riding wear.

I was stung on the back of the neck once and my eye swelled shut that night.
I've had a bee fly in the sleeve of my shirt and had to stop and take my shirt off before. Got stung a few times.

It even happens to Bear Grylls

Last year we rode through a swarm of bees. Must have hit two dozen of the things. Luckily both my wife and I were wearing full face helmets. Those critters sure sound loud as they bounce off your helmet. Could not imagine catching one in the eye.

I also had one in the sleeve and got stung at least #5 times before I killed that F-ER, It must have been quite a sight as I was slapping the **** out of myself while trying to pull over. In the eye, That SUCKS!!!!
