Default Installed Hogtunes

Well, its taken me a month to find the time to complete it but today I finished the installation of my Hogtunes setup. I have a 2012 Ultra Classic and installed the Big Ultra kit, the tweeter pod, and the lower fairing woofers.

Here are some of my opinions:

1. The Big Ultra kit and tweeter pod are awesome. However the rear speakers seem to be lacking power / volume.

2. I'm not impressed with the lower fairing woofers. I cannot even tell that they are there and this is with the second amplifier. I thought they would be louder and offer more than they do.

3. The customer service / tech support at Hogtunes is AWESOME. I had to call them 3 or 4 times during the install for this and that.

4. DO NOT pay someone to install any of this for you - if you can take the front fairing apart you can do this yourself. Just be patient and give yourself time. I have never done any stereo / amp work before and installed all of this myself.

If I could make a recommendation to anyone considering Hogtunes, I would recommend the Big Ultra kit and the tweeter pod. Don't mess with the woofers.

Overall I am very happy with the setup. I have had the Boom! Audio from HD and the Hogtunes is definitely superior to that setup.

I've got a classic, just fairing speakers. Put the amp and speakers in back in April. Put the tweeter pod on Sunday. The speaker pod made a world of difference.

I have a 2010 Ultra Limited. I have purchased exactly your system but in different ways.. But its what you got. I haven't been able to get time off yet to install it but I am sure glad you posted that I can do it myself.. I am disappointed about the lower woofer kit. I got mine with high hopes that it would be the icing on the cake for total quality sound on my budget.. I really like those pockets on the lowers. I know I will install it now, though. I won't be satisfied until I at least try them out..

I weighed very heavily to get the Boom system.. I am glad you spoke up..

Thanks
David

I have been very pleased with my HogTunes setup. Best bang for the buck in my opinion.

I've installed this exact system on two of my friends bikes and the lower fairing woofers were quite noticeable. Strange that you can't tell they are there.

David - yes, you can do this install yourself.

I am going to call Tech Support tomorrow and ask about the woofers

I am a little surprised also. I bought my Hogtunes back in early 2009. The system at that time was called 3 for the freeway system. It consisted of the new fairing speakers the lowers new rear speakers along with the amp. I also added the hog pod tweeters. I can certainly notice the lowers and the sound coming out of them. It has given me three years of trouble free service and was a easy install. I was a bit disappointed in the sound or lack there of coming out of the rears but after speaking with the man himself the new 40.4 amp will all but solve that problem for me and will be replacing the old 24.2 model.
