Default I bought a new Road King because . . .

. . . I was considering a Heritage. After a little research, the RK was about the same price as a Heritage. A lot more bike. Life is good!

Best riding/ handling street bike I've ever had! I'm sure you won't regret it

Fatboy for me. I've wanted one for so long but as I got older I needed more bag space and FB's just don't look good with bags imo. But I will admit I still drool over them, especially the Lo. I've also been eyeing Road Glides.....I really gotta stay out of dealerships!

I bought one too. One of the BIGGEST differences is the ride quality compared to a Softail. I've owned a 2010 Deluxe. The Softails look nice with that hardtail look but when it comes down to haulin a passenger is wasn't even close to the comfort of a touring frame and suspension plus cornering clearance is much better.

Yeah, most people don't realize that the cool, low-slung look of the softails comes at the cost of handling. The Road King has a MUCH greater lean angle and is much more nimble in the twisties.
