HELP! Brake light stays on & Cruise not working!
09 FLHX Street Glide
Ok.. I noticed the last time I rode my cruise stopped working. I've been traveling so I was just able to get back out to check the bike the other day. Well, then the security wouldn't disengage, but a battery change to the key fob seemed to solve that issue.
Then... I noticed that my break light was stuck on. To the best of my knowledge, it was not before, when I first noticed the cruise not working, since that would deactivate the cruise I assume. Took seat off, checked wiring, check fuse panel. Tried turning and/or cranking the bike on and off to see if something worked. Nothing!
I did notice while leaning down at the fuse panel, and when I turned the ignition switch on, I could hear the brake relay clicking or almost like it was trying to engage and disengage at the same time. I would think if the relay was bad, I wouldn't hear anything, since it should be stuck in an open or closed position.
I've not changed any wiring, no handle bar changes, etc... just all of a sudden this started!
Any ideas.... anyone?????

i had the same problem on my 2008 ultra. i unplugged the rear brake light switch (2 wires) and the light went out. that told me was the rear switch. then the brake light didnt work at all so i pulled the main fuse for few seconds and put it back in. the front lever activated the brake light so i was able to ride until i got it repaired. 09 had a recall and dealer will fix it free of charge. since mine was a 08 i picked one up from a auto part store for 9 whole dollars.
good luck
