Screamin' Eagle torque mufflers. Looked like crap, sounded like crap, no noticeable power increase, & took 'em off the same day. Don't even know why I bought 'em, but it was a few years ago.
Most expensive worst upgrade: SE 103 Stage IV on my 2009 Street Glide.
It only gave more power above 3,500 rpms. No advantage during cruising.
Lasted 18,000 miles and gave out.

Thanks, fellas. Two things I was about ready to pull the trigger on. Leather bag lid "protectors" and the push button fuel door. I'll pass on both now.
I been lucky and haven't had any yet........and I do appreciate threads like these as they do help me from making the same mistakes. I also do a search for the mod/part that I'm considering and have change my mind several times do the information that I've found.
The vinyl lowers that slip over the engine guard. Kick so much air straight up at you, my head was bouncing around so much I could barely see the interstate. Use the money for extra pair of gloves or sweatshirt.
My Road King is an 01 and I will never part with it, Lord willing. The only thing I ever bought that was not an improvement in at least some way was buying HD chubby bars which the 'clerk' at the dealership claimed would pull back further. Now with the correct Wild Ones I am good to go. Also Lord willing not my last HD.
