Got a 97 FLHTC that I recently replaced an engine on. Old engine had 41,000 miles on it when it spun a cam bearing. Bought a used evo out of a 97 Heritage with 7200 miles (supposedly). Oil pressure runs kinda low, but after readin some of the posts, I guess it's normal, however when it warms up it sounds as if it's not gettin oil up top, kinda tappin but not knockin. Suggestions?

Maybe a bad or stuck lifter? Are you sure the previous owner didn't put some kind of solid lifter kit in it?
There are updated hydraulic lifter sets from the MOCO for these bikes. I don't know if the '97's came from the factory with them or not.
I put a set in my '94 FXDS and now it sounds like a little Singer sewing machine. No unusual noises at all.
Also, have you checked the lifter oil filter-screen to make sure it's not clogged with gunk?
