Chrome front end kit
#11
I got my chrome lower sliders on ebay for $128. They were genuine Harley. Just a dealer closeout or something. I bought the cow bells, spacers, etc. at my local dealer when they had a 20% off sale. Did the install myself, so I got a total chrome front end for cheap money. Love those smooth bottom ones....

Just got off the phone with a local indy. For $285.00+tax, I can get polished chrome lowers, new chrome cowbells, and my forks rebuilt with the Progressive drop in kit I already have and him doing the labor. He gets my old lowers in exchange.
It's not gonna be show chrome, but mine's not a show bike. I've heard good things about his stuff and he's trying to get his name out so......

Ya really should get all the stuff in the kit in chrome. Nothing wrong with the HD stuff but there are lot of good, and not so good, chrome shops that do exchange on harley parts a lot cheaper than the HD stuff. It is up to you, but I don't think replacing good parts for looks instead of having them refinished makes any sense.

Save at least 50% by going with any of the exchange retailers. They are HD parts just after market chromed (usualy better than the MOCO) leave the core deposit , install the set and return your old parts.
You need to do the cow bell tooo, they are not chrome and will not match. IMO if you have the forks apart add a Progressive kit too it at the same time.

You will need the cowbells as well as they are polished, not chrome. We really like our smooth bottom lowers which are much slicker than the Harley chrome version. They do cost a little bit more but for the smooth and clean look you get they are well worth it. Great deals are being made on these everyday.
You can see a comparison of these and the stock chrome lowers on our site here.

How do these compare to the Arlen Ness offering? AN comes with a flushmount axle too for what appears to be a similar price.
