Default 107" w/TW6-6 cams....More cam?

Hello,
I did my build in 2 stages, TW6 cams and then a FM 107 kit. At the time the Woods 6's were the ticket, since then the triple 2's, 5's and 7's have been released, as well as a few others. Am I getting the most out of this 107" kit or would one of these other cams wake it up that much more? I see the numbers aren't much different between the 6-6's and the 555's but how about in the good 'ol butt dyno? Just curious....I'm after a curve heavily favoring the left..Thx

I have those same cams in my 106. My bike makes 107hp/115tq. It hits 100tq at 2300rpm. What more do you want?

my bike is making 112/126 with a 106 and 555s (mild headwork)

im thinking about going to 777s for slightly longer duration, but i doubt the power gain would be worth my time and effort.

I thought the Woods 6-6's in my bagger were perfect. To see a noticeable difference I think you'd have to go with something more...

If you want the power on the left get some 8's and headwork. I think the switch to 555's or 777's would be a waste of $$ and time.

I've got 9b's in my Dyna. Too noisy for a bagger in my opinion.

Without going to check Woods site, if the Wood 6-6 is like the 555, I think the 777's make a bit more ft/# torque and hp on the 107, and with Fuelmoto B heads that seems to be the ticket.

I'm going to be in the same boat here soon when I do the 107 kit, currently have TW6's in the bike.

Curious to see what people think.

Also what numbers are you getting now with those cams and the 107?

I haven't had the bike on a dyno so I can't share any numbers. I'm running Revolution Perf. EMS and it's running fine.
I went with FM stage 1 heads when I did the 107 kit, I didn't see much difference on the left side of the graph comparing both heads...

I'm guessing you're referring to the level A heads when you say Stage1 heads. I don't think you'll gain that much with a different set of cams. Either the 555's, 777's, or the newest ones...888's (?) I'd spend my money to have the Level B porting done. Dollar for dollar I think the performance increase would be greater.

personal experience or your opinion?

folks, you can slap all kinds of things on a motor and get decent numbers. but if you plan out your motor and buy things that compliment each other, you will make power reliably. THAT is your best bang for the buck.

cams do what? push the rods. which push the rockers which open and close the valves. your heads and cams need to work together. not just 'more head works and youre gonna be awesome'

whole lotta 'think' opinions floating around which just confuse people. oh, and check out the numbers on the cams. if you dont know what one means, call someone (like Jamie) and ask them to explain. I dont have a hard on for FM, but they have outstanding customer service and make a good product. Thus, they are very valuable in this industry

If your looking for a touring cam for the low to mid RPM range the TW222 or TW6-6 would be a good choice for TQ in the low to mid range. If your looking to run in the higher RPM then the 555/777/888 should prove to be the better cam.

I have a 2009 SG with the stock 96ci engine with TW6-6 cams, stage 1 intake, SEST, and dyno run for mods. There is a post, see link below, of another 96ci bike with the TW222 cams. On this one example, the TW222 cams pop 100ft-lbs TQ before the 6-6 and holds it longer. Quote from my comment, "Mike's TW-222 cam torque pops 100ft-lbs at 2750RPM and holds it to 4500RPM. My 96ci TW6-6 cam torque pops 100ft-lbs at 3600RPM and holds it to 4150RPM." https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...installed.html

This spring I am installing the TW222 cams, valve springs, and probably going with the FM 107ci kit. Looking for more low to mid range RPM TQ.
