Charge thru the Gerbings plug? Sure, why not.
BTW - on the other end of things, as stated the tender pigtail fuse may not carry the load for the Gerbings. My charger pigtail was installed by the dealer, as they install them on all bikes sold at my dealership to prevent mix ups. One day looking at mine I noticed the fuse was 7.5 amp. I have a small compressor I keep in a saddlebag that says it can pull 10 amps under load. I replaced my pigtail with a 15 amp deltran from Amazon to prevent any problems. Wire gauge looks very close, I probably could have just put a 15A fuse in my old pigtail. I put my old pigtail on my riding mower, what the heck...

Those SAE to Coax adapters from First Gear are on eBay.
No affiliation to this seller, but I've bought two from them. Fast shipping to boot.

When I bought my Gerbing gear from Eagle Leather, I bought a Gerbing brand two prong (battery tender) to Gerbing power plug adaptor. I have used my heated gear on many different bikes plugging into the battery tender plug. I have yet to get cold or to blow a fuse.
At the time, Gerbing sold two adapters. Either the tender 2 prong to Gerbing round plug and the reverse so that you can plug your battery tender into your bike through the Gerbing power plug.
I run a Gerbing jacket liner and Gerbing heated gloves through their dual controller. My touring bike has the Gerbing round power plug, but my sporty, my triumph and my radical XS have just the battery tender plug and I have ridden all three all day using my Gerbing gear plugged into the battery tender cable. There was no warning and they sold me the Gerbing brand adaptor plug when I bought mine.

Perhaps there will be an electrician or electrical engineer to correct anything I say that is wrong so here it comes. Most of the circuits in the Harlleys I have seen are protected by 15 amp fuses. That means that the wires can handle more than 15 amps, otherwise the wires would be the fuses. Braided copper wire of a given size, whether made by A company or Z company will handle close to the same load. Any wire thicker than what Harley uses in most its wiring will be able to handle 15 amps for heated clothing. Regardless of what the lawyers make the maintainer companies say about their pig tails, if the conductor is equal to or larger than the basic wiring in your scooter it will be able to be dual purposed, charge/maintain the battery and power heated clothing. Any wire actually limited to about 2.5 amps must not be much thicker than 1 strand out of typical Harley wires.
