Default Rc components slip ons

I installed stage 1 with V&H true duals and RC COMPONENTS 4 inch slip sons on my 2013 ultra classic. Sounds good but it is a little too loud. Louder than I expected or wanted. Do any of you have any idea if there is a baffle or some other option that would help tone it down. I guess I can put stock mufflers on as last resort. If that is my only option, will my map need adjusting?

I have those mufflers on the V&H Power Dual Header. A little loud for me too, but it does sound wicked. I asked the guy who dynoed mine about changing back to stock muffler. He said that I could, but it won't perform to optimum because it was tuned with the RCX mufflers. So you can do it if you want, according to what my tuner guy said. Me - I just wear ear plugs if I'm going on a long ride - that way I keep the performance at optimum.

Thanks for the reply. Most of my riding is an hour or so between stops. Just concerned about the wife. She hasn't ridden since I put exhaust on. If she doesn't complain, I probably will use earplugs. Thanks again.

I have the Excalibur and love them. If I am at a stop and want to talk to a buddy next to me no problem.

Install a set of big city baffles in the head pipe in front of the mufflers. It will tone down some of the growl but leaves a great low note.

If anyone has a dyno sheet on these pipes could you please post it?

I'm interested in them from a performance stand point vs. Rineharts 4" with Power Duals.

Thank you.

You can remove the baffles and wrap them with FMF fiber glass matt. I did and it "mellowed" them out nicely To remove them take off the tips and remove the Allen screw that holds the baffle. With a flat piece of wood on the floor and holding the muffler on the inlet side give it a few hits on the wood(the wood will protect the chrome) and the baffle will loosen...then take along screw driver and tap the baffle out the rest of the way from the inlet side. Wrap the baffle using some plastic shipping tape, then line 'er up and tap it back in making sure the holes line up and your good to go...here's some pics w/o and with the FMF matt

I just installed a set of 4" slip on RCX on my ultra. I have stock head pipes. I love it. Just came off of stock slip ons. It made a big difference to me. I don't know, whem I get bored with that I might switch head pipes.
