Default O2 sensor cross talk question

So, I'm considering doing the decat on my pipes (2010 FLHTK), but one of the issues I'm reading is the cross talk of the 02 sensors when the CAT is out.

I don't get it...looking at the location of the sensors now, they are like a inch or two apart at best, how does decatting the pipe introduce crosstalk that wouldn't be there now? I could understand is they were further apart, but they are almost sitting on top of each other already.

imo, its a non issue. i ran a stock 2-1 headpipe that had been decatted for over 2 years until i found a great deal on a fuelmoto 2-1 headpipe up for sale (they don't make them anymore). to be honest, i have noticed absolutely no difference in performance, mileage, etc.

Lambda sensors should not play a role near idling speed. I think they come into action only later (1,500 rpm?) as discussed in the Xied threads. Above idling speed you guarantee enough flow in both tubes to avoid crosstalk.

Once you see the cat material you'll understand.

I've seen the CAT material and again I don't understand with both sensors being so close to each other. I could understand if they were on different sides of the CAT or further apart but they aren't an are basically occupying the same space.

I have done the DeCat on 3 bikes now, no issues on any of them. Cant remember if it's the upper or lower o2 sensor that actually sits inside one of the pipes. What I mean by that is one of the pipes actually extends into the collector and is some what isolated from the other o2 sensor that way. I wouldn't let the so called cross talk issue keep you from doing it.

My favorite topic, still waiting for someone to prove crosstalk or what it does.
yes the 02 sensors are separated by about 6 inches due to the pipe extension, do think it is the rear

Crosstalk or not, I am done with the stove under my right thigh. To many people on here have done the kittyless conversion with no problems at all, so I have a gutted pipe from fleabay and the biggest damn beer you have ever seen waiting on me when I get done sucking sand, lol. Oh yeah, a few other goodies I had the ole lady put in a corner piled up for me to. 80 days left, WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

In the process of putting mine back together, found a fairly new head pipe on eBay cut out the cat and had a freind weld it back up. Added an XEID and will be ready to roll again. I had an 07 with a 110SE and never had heat like what I have on the new one. Looking forward to a cooler ride.
Thank you for your service.
