Yellow Harleys
THe "ALL" yellow bikes really stand out but I agree that the need something to break-up the solidness (real word?).
If I had one of 'em, I'd consider a more blend-in color (silver, orange, white, etc.) for pin striping as opposed to a darker color as I have never liked contrasting colors for pin striping, but that's just my opinion.
Another option would be some chrome accents like a chrome windshield strip for the batwing fairing and some accents for the saddlebag lids, and chrome trim ring(s) for the headlight (and passing lamps if equipped).
I love the yellow color.
I have a Chevy SSR (Slingshot Yellow) and I would have bought a '12 CVO S/E Ultra if I had not had my mind set on an Anniversary Limited, but once I saw the Anniversary colors (not my flavor) the yellow CVO S/E Ultra was sold so I opted for a '13 CVO S/E Ultra (Typhoon Maroon).

I love the Chrome Yellow - it looks freakin' amazing in the sun. But...my wife has a yellow Vespa scooter, and, well, I just couldn't do it. Went with the Midnight Pearl for the sunlight factor but can pass for Vivid Black when the sun goes down (not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing?)
a yellow cvo caught my eye at the dealers but i couldn't even come close to what they were wanting for it. the limited however, was an obtainable replacement. absolutely love it.....except, it seems to show the dirt more than my blue ultra classic that i traded or even my white yamaha road star.
Saw a yellow and white Heritage Softail cruise by yesterday. It looked great with the black bags and black seat. Looked great on the Heritage might be too much yellow on a Streetglide for my taste.
Man, it might be true that a more original or personalized color would be harder to sell, but all it takes is the folks who like it to buy it. If I ever see candy green with big flake, I'll bite. Not everybody's thing, but I love em. Yellow bikes are likely the same for someone else.
