Default How many links on my primary chain?

99 EG Standard, am trying to find out how many links are in my chain and how much of a longer chain I will need by going to a 27 tooth compensating sprocket, anybody have this info?

Thanks

HD introduced the Twin Cam engine in 1999; touring bikes were carbureted but there was also an EFI option. The carb bikes came with 3.15 gearing (25/36 primary) and the EFI Touring Bikes were given 3.37 (24/37 primary) gearing.

IIRC, the primary chain for both setups was the same, 82 pitch. The chain pitch required to accomodate a 27T motor sprocket will depend on whether your bike is currently geared with a 36 or 37 tooth clutch sprocket. You may not find a primary chain with the required pitch to accomodate your needs.

I would call Diamond or Tsubaki and chat them up. I would also be looking for an o-ring, roller chain. You may have to revert to OEM or aftermarket configurations designed to work with more standard configurations. Baker has a 28T sprocket/chain setup??
