A friends bike wouldn't start, it would click and trip the relay . Same thing each time the relay was reset. We were able to push start it to get home. His running lights were flickering and he reached behind the toggle switch and the switch was so hot it burned his fingers so we disconnected the wires from the switch and taped them up. Thought maybe that was the problem but it didn't solve the problem. Originally I thought battery until the switch problem. Any ideas would be great, Thanks in advance.

 

Could it be that the switch went bad and was shorting while we were stopped and when it was time to leave the battery wasn't fully charged?
