I just got back from a local dealer (I'm not gonna mention any name but I'm sure you can "get it" by looking at my sig below) inquiring 2014 fleet on behalf of my friend. I mentioned to the Sales Manager about the "coolant problem" on the new 2014 fleet and he said: "Yup. We had to tow back the first 2014 that was bought from our floor!" WOW!!

I would think purged/burped he was talking air trapped in the system. Wonder if it has a pressure cap.....????? The tech said it only happened on the first bike he set up. Nothing after that and they sold 7 bikes + with no problems with coolant leaks.

**Update** Well kindof....

I got a call from the dealership advising they still don’t know what the problem is. They mentioned a couple of possibilities but I don’t want to share inaccurate information so I will hold off until they are sure.

They are waiting for a call back from MOCO which is already closed for the day so we are going into day 3 for sure.

My frustration level is growing each day but so far I havent taken it out on anybody..... I keep picturing my engine being ran until it reaches maximum heat to "test" the system which isnt a good considering its not even broken in yet. And I'm imagining all the scratches I am going to have on my perfect paint when I finally get to pick it up.

I had more than a few problems with my first Harley and so far the second one isnt going very well either.

Man I feel your pain...I had a few of those experiences and not pleasant at all...I am also like you, very meticulous with regard to my personal and near and dear to my heart vehicles...

hang in there, hopefully the dealer will make it up for your if he wants to retain you as a long term customer and prolong the positive relationship...

I am still holding if I should jump on the 14 Limited now or later...

Make sure they give your bike a complete detail before returning it to you for your inconvenience!

Seems we hear these same songs with different words every 5 years or so with the latest and greatest developments... growing pains due to the tree huggers but necessary to stay in business. Your taking the learning experience better than I did with my 09 and the compensator blues, good luck and I hope this is the end of your trama with Harleys.
