I am finally going to get rid of the stock pipes and A/C. I already have a PCIII and have located a dyno shop that's supposed to be really good. I am looking for a set of slip-ons. I don't particularly likeear-splitting pipes. They're okay on someone else's but I prefer a deeper moderately mellow tone,something that's not really loud unless you really get on it. Also, which air cleaner should I choose? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I really like the 2.25 RUSH. I would talk to your dyno tech and see what they are having good luck with. The RUSH have a very mellow low sound. If you choose RUSH get them through M and M Cycles.

V&H Ovals with factory headers make good power...check out LATUS HD website..they have an interestingperformance section...K&N or Arlen Ness Big Sucker flow well and are washable..these are good til 110HP and so are the headers. i like the rhine hardt slip ons
se ac have bad filters (blue)
i would go with the k&n package they are a sponsor of this forum(first page)
or just wait until you hear a sound you like

 

The Screamin' Eagles Street Performance Muffler is a good choice, as is the V&H Oval Slip-Ons. I've had them both. The SE is quieter, deep rumble, modest power enhancement. The V&H makes more noise, good tone, and great power enhancement. They have each been mated with the V&H FuelPak and the SE Stage 1 Intake. Either is a great choice. The V&H made a little too much sound for me - during a long ride they became irritating. The SE's work better for me from a sound standpoint, but I miss the crisp power delivery that the V&H's provided.

 

 

i have thunder header slip on and screamin eagle slip on....
if you want deep tone, not loud...then buy screamin eagle slip on...
if you want loud....no other choices..thunder header.....
i usually switch between both, bike event= thunder header...it will attract more people to stare at your bike....

 

I have the Screamin' Eagles on my '06 Ultra and I like them. To me, the sound is just right. I know what you mean about not wanting to be too loud. I don't mindloud pipesmuch on other's bikes, but they're not for me.
