Default headlight shattered

I just went to clean the bugs off my 07 ultra and the headlight cover is shattered. Has anyone else had this? The bike has been in the garage or with me riding it, so nothing has hit it,but maybe a bug.

I got whacked by a rock thrown by an eighteen wheeler. Saw it comin' in slomo and couldn't do a thing about it. Heard the CRACK and thought, well there goes the headlight.

Just broke the glass and not the bulb.

unless you put the bike in an enclosed trailer to get it to your house - it was ridden - my vote is a small rock just got it and you never heard it - this is one reason why I have choosen to wear a full face - that same small rock will leave a mark on your nose/mouth..

Small rock or something hit mine on the way to Laughlin a couple of years ago and did the same thing. Get ready for sticker shock. I think I paid about 100.00 for a replacement.

Regards,

Bill

Ask your wife. You probably forgot to take out the trash.

I was a little PO'ed after getting hit on the cheek bone yesterday by a rock. I think $100 for a head light would have hurt more.[:-]

I was putting in a long days ride on the last day of a week long trip. I pulled into a gas station and started to fill up. I heard glass hitting the ground and looked around but no one was near. Did a walk around of the bike and found a hole in the front headlight glass about the diameter of a tennis ball! The headlight had shattered while sitting there, untouched. The headlight still worked and I drove the last 120 nightime miles home. It was pretty weird. I could never tie it to any rock hits or anything else. I figured it got hit by a rock and when the bike was shut off and the cool night air chilled the glass the stress shattered it.

Worst part of the deal is there is a small scratch where the glass hit the front fender before it hit the ground. Wouldn't of believed it if I hadn't seen it.

I upgraded to the dual bulb headlight which i like.
