Belt to chain drive

Belt to chain drive
I've been doing some research and have decided to change from the belt final drive to chain drive on my 12 RG. I'm looking at the set up from R&B Racing. This set up includes modifying the swing arm for adjustment and they take the rear sprocket with the Cush drive and convert it to a sprocket. Has anyone had any experience with this set up.

Why? I ran chains in the 70's and 80's. The o-Ring is the only way to go and they are expensive. You are constantly watching your sprockets for wear and you still need to remove your primary to change the front sprocket.
Unless you have torque and HP numbers greater than say 140, I would have to ask why you would consider this?

In your position I would look into converting to a tri-glide belt, which is a little wider at 1 1/8" and heavier grade than solo belts, so would need a new rear pulley. I haven't ridden on an exposed chain since the '70s and don't look back!
I have read about the chain conversion you mention, so use Search for that brand. Looks well engineered, but not cheap!

Today's O-ring chains are light years ahead of old harley link chains. I had over 40,000 miles on my ninja chain and sprockets when I totaled it. They were still in good shape, Scottoiler with little maintenance or adjustment. They are needed for big power. Sorry don't know anything about conversion kits as I'm too cheap for BIG power.

I have pulled 2 belts apart, nothing like getting a gear and hitting the redline when you spit the belt out the back. I run the Scremin Eagle Heavy Duty Belt Part# 40130-03 on my '03, so far it works. In '04 they went to a narrower belt, I have not used one but was told Part# 40040-05 works on '04 and up.
As for the 124 Torque Monster, I understand now why you would use a chain.

There was a heavy duty 1 1/2" sidecar belt for the original wide versions, which may also have been the SE version. With the following narrower 1 1/8" belt there is a Tri-Glide heavy duty version, still used on the current trikes. So anyone with the latest 1" narrow belt there may not be a beefed up version, hence my earlier suggestion of converting to a Tri-Glide version.
Having checked, #40130-03 is the wide sidecar belt, #40040-05 is the Tri-Glide belt.
