Default Another 2014 recall?

While at the local dealership this afternoon one of the techs told me that there is talk of a possible recall on those 2014 bikes with the water cooled heads to involve replacing the reservoir. Something to do with a weakness with the material at the cap end of the reservoir.
Anyone else aware of this or is it just a rumor?
Has anyone had a specific problem with the reservoir involving the material itself?

Not a rumor. The info was posted several times over the past few days.

Not a recall, a product update. Recalls are federal, updates are released by manufacturer to address problems and are covered during the warranty period. Mike

How do we get "product updates"? Do they come in the mail, or is there a specific website page on the HD website for that?

Go to your dealer and ask them to do the Product Program "0916: PRD PGM:2014 TWIN-COOL FILL NK" update. They may or may not notify us. It's not a recall so they aren't required to notify us. They may just wait until you have the bike in for service or ask them to do it. In 2012 the MOCO did take the step of sending out a letter to owners effected by the faulty voltage regulator. They updated mine last Wednesday while replacing my leaking thermostat housing for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. You can also go to the Harley website click on Owners, then maintain your bike, then recall information and use your VIN # to see if there are any recalls or Product programs pending for your bike.

You will get a letter but may be later on. I got one for my cvo street glide but it had failed and fixed before I got the letter.

I may be naïve but I really think Harley will have our leak issues fixed with this "program" They have too much on the line not to do it right. It would be crazy to have a high percentage of your current twin cooled bike owners bring their bikes in for this fix, only to have another issue with leaks. It would be much more than crazy, it would cost them big time. I have been told that this issue was one of the Motor Companies top issues and that they want the issue fixed correctly as bad as we do. I guess, time will tell. I really like the 14 bikes.
