Mini air Compressor
Any first hand experiences with a mini air compressor. I have cycle pump from Aerostich, paid $ 100 for it but doesn't work worth a darn. Any suggestions from in field EXPERIENCE?
I got the MoCo compressor and it worked for me and a friend on a trip just fine. Was fast and efficient and about half the price of the one you show with a built in flashlight in case ya need it in the dark.
Takes up no space and works well.
This is what i have and also have used in the field.
Under $20 USA.
Speed should not be an expectation.
Some people expect a tiny one piston pump to function like a gas station compressor and that is not going to happen.
You get pressure quickly but volume takes time due to the tiny piston/air chamber.
Should not be run for more than 10 minutes because the metal gets very hot.
Also requires some knowledge and patience or injury could result.
Again, i have used it on my bike and have also assisted others.
There is a seller on EBAY that selsl them already made for a moderate profit.http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcyc...cles/air-pump/

If it fails to pump up your tire in two minutes as advertised it most likely is defective. I think two minutes is a stretch. Did you call the manufacturer? I have a small slime unit in my truck and it inflated my truck tire in 10 minutes which I think is reasonable.
I have the moco's in my bike and it works fine. Only initial problem was my 10 year old battery tender lead only had a 3 amp fuse which blew. I replaced with a new tender lead available at Harley that has an 8 amp in line an all is well

I went to Walmart and bought the very low priced mini compressor they sell in the automotive area. I think it has a light with it also. I have used it to top of my tires on trips and have full confidence it will fill a tire no problem. Fits in a little case and goes easily in the bottom of my saddlebag on trips. I want to say it was way less than $20.
I grabbed one of these just to try, and found it works great for what I need it for, a small but effective emergency compressor. Used it when teaching my son how to plug a tire and it took 5-10 minutes to refill a tire to 41 lbs. not bad considering the wait for road side assistance if you're on the side of a backroad 200 miles from anywhere!
