Default Swap 204 cam for higher lift cam?

So I have a 2013 road glide that I put 204 cams in. Currently getting 98hp and 108tq. I did not touch the heads when I did cam install and don't really want to at this point. Just kicking around swapping the cams for something with a little more lift. Would I gain anything if I'm not touching the heads? I would be doing all the work except tune. I have been looking at the 57h or the 222. What do you gain with more lift. Do stock heads breath well at that lift? Guess it comes down to getting bored and wanting to wrench on something. :-).

Without headwork I'd say take what you got and be happy. Different dyno for sure but my 5th gear numbers are only 101/91 with my SE204's.

Leave well enough alone with those numbers, even if the dyno is happy 5%, still good! I'm beginning to think the 204 is the way to go, it's lift may be ideal with the stock set up.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. Just bored and don't really know how the lift effects the performance of these stock heads. Thanks for the responses guys.

I have to agree with the rest. You can't just add more lift to get a significant power increase. The 204's with .508 lift is all the stock heads and springs need. You can put the 222's in and get slight increase maybe. Put something like TW 555's and you will loose some lowend and pick up a little over 3500. The only other thing that will greatly improve performance is to put on a 30 tooth rear sprocket. That will pick you up significantly from idle to wide open. Use 139 tooth 1" Gates belt. The Falcon's tend not to last as long as the Gates. Once you get this setup on you can go to higher lift like the TW 555 or Andrews 57 or 48 and pick up more. I would still put the .585 springs on for the extra valve lift. The down side is you need a tuner that can adjust the speedo, and if you change springs you have to pull heads and might as well do head work. It never ends.

Those are good numbers with stock heads! Stock heads don't actually flow much better over .500 lift. Save the cam money for headwork and some high ratio rockers.

Don't over think this. Those are good numbers. Lift don't mean ****. It's all in the timing, duration and overlap. Many would be proud to have what you got!

If you want more lift, I wouldn't change the cam, I would add these: 17396-08 Screamin' Eagle Pro Rocker Arms - 1.725:1 Ratio

I'm not sure you would see a lot of difference, but it would be less expensive than changing the cams.

BTW - You have some good numbers for your 103 and SE204 cam. My 103 with TW-222 makes 95hp / 115 tq. I woundn't change your SE204 for the TW-222.

If you want to do cam and heads, then you could step up the compression, get the heads to breath and put in a hot rod cam like the TW-777 or equivalent.

Wrench on something else. Your cams are doing a great job.

It's good to hear that my assumptions were correct. The 204 has been a great addition for sure. My head just gets wrapped up in all the cam posts and it makes me curious. I am going to leave well enough alone until I am ready to do heads. I can find many other things to wrench on for now. :-))). Thanks all.
