I bought a sets of Hertz off E-bay from a reputable buyer with 15k + feedback and they ended up being fake. After listening to 10 different brands....Infinity, Focal, Boston's, Polk etc....I settled on a set of Rainbow germanium's.

I have read lots of review's online about these speakers but couldn't find a dealer with in 500 miles, again found a set on E-bay and I have to say that they are bar none the best 6.5" speaker I have ever heard... Definitely worth the $$......JMHO... If I didn't buy these I probably would have bought the Rockford T3'S.

I would suggest an amp no matter what...any speaker is better than stock, but an amp makes all the difference.

Without an amp it doesn't matter. There's lots of threads about it in the audio forum, have you looked there? I myself have Polk MM651's which a lot of people like, but I haven't tried any others, which might be better. Are your current speakers 2 ohm? 4 ohm? What year is your ultra?

Nothing is "the best", no matter what any vender or member says. Speakers are subjective to the person that is listening to them.

A better question would be asked with certain criteria in it. Like, with an amp, no amp, loudest, clearest, least expensive, most bass, etc.

Without any of that information, pick any 5.25" speaker and throw it in.

with no amp i would still go to a 6.5,speakers have a sensitivity rating in spl(sound pressure level) the higher the #the more sound they make.without an amp look at the highest spl NOT the wattage.

As stated, there is no "best" speaker. Ya need to listen to them with your ears. That said, without an amp on a stock HK head unit ya need to use 2 ohm speakers. JBL and Infinity both have good 2ohm 6.5" coax speakers that would work great and would handle some power if ya ever add an amp. The audio section is full of great info and help. Good Luck!

What ever you consider, make sure they are appropriate for when and how you ride. Some speakers sound nice and "fit" but make sure they are motorcycle speakers that can get wet and take the vibration of a motorcycle. Car audio gear won't last very long if you ride in the rain.

Same goes with amps. Car audio gear isn't designed to take the vibration motorcycle gear can.

Good luck.
