any seat post 2009 will not fit your frame.
there were minor frame changes from 1980 right up to 2008 version, so those year seats may fit, but if your seat pan is in good shape:

many of the Guys here have used mean city cycles to modify seats- and they always get good reviews.

try them.

welcome to the forums

Having your seat modified will not buy you anything...on the newer bikes the tour pac is mounted further back than on the older bikes. I am putting a newer seat on my 83 and it overhangs the tour pac mount a good 3 inches. I would think you would need a tour pac mount from an evo bike to make work.

Had the same problem with my '83,and my GF at that time was tiny! You need to move the tourpack back. I think you could gain an inch or two by drilling new holes.

I have owned my 1990 bike from new, which is similar to yours, with an '87 tourpak and there is no spare room in the floor to move it rearwards IMHO. However by raising it a little, I've used a length of aluminium U channel stock, it is possible to move it rearwards a bit, using the threaded holes in the current rack, plus newly drilled holes in the U channel.
