Default Manual for rental bike.

A friend and I are going on an 11 day ride in June. He's going to rent a 14 Limited and wanted to look the manual over (especially the infotainment system). I thought I could download one from Harley but they want me to set up an account with a VIN number. Anyone know how I can get a pdf copy?

Thanks,

David

I don't think there is one.
Harley is very protective with the printed material.
Drop by a dealer and they'll answer your questions, even let you look at the manual.

They walk you through it when you rent a bike but I'd take it out and see if he has it all down & if not come back & have them go trough it again.

I knew they protected most manuals. Since the owners manual is free with bike, I thought it might be different.

Thanks

Go to dealer and take close up pictures of the pages you want with a digital camera or your smartphone then print them. probably about 12 pages or so...

The manuals usually run $20K plus.
They throw the bike in for free.

You don't need a VIN to create an account on HD and read a manual. I added the 2014 Limited to my list so I could read through the manual while I wait for it (I'm taking delivery in July, the bike is yet to be built and I have no VIN). The online viewing is pretty much your only option unless you get your hands on a hard copy.

Just my opinion but to me it's not the best idea to rent a bike you're not familar with and take it on a 11 day ride. Even with the manuel I would want some time to play around with the infotainment system before I ever got on the bike to ride it until I was comfortable with the system. When I rented a bike a few weeks back I had the opportunity to also rent a 14 limited but chose not to because I didn't want the distraction of figuring out all the gadgets while on my ride.

There's a lot of distractions when the bike is sitting in the showroom, much less "learning" while riding.
2014 bikes are really different.

He could also go to this site. If you follow the links, it's a pretty decent overview of the infotainment system.
