Default 04 electra shifter

ok guys, just picked up an 04 elctra glide standard. seems to have a really loose shifter at all points (arms, shaft and at the tranny) what are the fixes out there to correct this? i think a can just tighten the arms, prolly replace the bushings in cross shaft, the one that concerns me is the arm on the tranny.... thanks ahead!

The Arm on the transmission shaft will require a bit of work ( remove primary ) If money is not object and you're not real mechanical look up betterlever.com ... Hope this helps.

And you can build your own trans linkage using heim ends also ... DO A SEARCH. Good Luck.

Those are all the suggestions. If you can't tighten the bolt and fix it, you either have to pull the primary and replace the lever or get the Better Lever like was suggested.

Better lever is expensive but a great product. Picked one up from his house in Norfolk a few years back

Being loose on the tranny is a common problem. I did what another member advised on my 03 three years ago . Replace the allan head bolt with a grade 8 hex head bolt. Use blue loc-tite and socket.

my indy ... when ever a new customers bike comes in loose or not he does the grade8 bolt trick cause he really hates changing them out, it will only work if the knurl is not too worn,if the lever has been loose for awhile the knurl will wear fast.
