Syn3? I've never seen a lab test on it, but at $8.50/qt. I believe you can do much better for the money. I say go elsewhere for your engine oil, and I would never put it in my tranny.
For tranny oil, consider using the same criteria, but select a synthetic hypoid gear oil (75w90 or higher). Engine oil may be fine, but I've always used gear oil in a manual tranny and won't stop without evidence that it is the wrong choice.
Primary oil doesn't require a high-tech product. Any cheap 10w30-20w50 fossil motor oil is fine. I used a 94¢/qt. off-brand 10w40 from Walmart in my '96 RK primary without any problems. IMO, using HD Formula+, reportedly a mundane 10w30 motor oil with a bit of EP added, is a waste of money at $6.50/qt. Some people use ATF and gear oil, and although either should work fine I think gear oil is overkill for that application.

Never fails to amaze me how a lot of people plop down 20K or better without blinking an eye then won't to put 50cent oil in it. By any good grade of of oil, change it every 3k and all is good, put a good grade cycle oil or formula + in the primary and change every other oil change along with the tranny fluid and your bike will last a long time.
