TC88 mpg?
#31
My TC 88 has an SE AC, V&H duals and 3" fish tails . I ave 40-45 most of the time, I have hit 50's.
How much weight are you toting? Riding 2up, with a lager partner? Are you a big dude? The weight thing will mak you bike work harder and drop your MPG.

Your mileage is not out of line for the bike. I have a 2005 Ultra as well. Around town I get 30-32. On the road if I keep it below 70, I can get 35. It drops off the faster I go.
While strong, the 88 isn't great on MPG's. Add to that we only have 5 speeds, not 6, and the rpm's are about 600-800 more than the newer models.
Yeah, it is frustrating sometimes...but she's paid for a long time ago, and nothing wrong with it. Soo, fill up more often, stretch the legs, and enjoy the ride.

To me, the only time fuel mileage is significant is if it suddenly changes when nothing else changes...mileage is not important to me, and many others who ride...the experience is the important thing. SO many things affect mileage that trying to compare your mileage against his mileage, against her mileage, means nothing at all...
Just ride, dude...don't worry about the MPG! If ya want good mileage, get a Prius and let your mandible muscles go slack so you can look like every other hybrid driver out there!!!! LOL

My mileage isn't a real concern, it's just that I've seen many posts where people get much better as evidenced by some of the responses here. 31 mpg and a five gallon tank equals extra gas stops, but I can live with it. It seems about the same whether I'm solo or two up. I do like to run at 80mph, generally at 3k rpm or a little more.

06 Ultra here. I get around 40 riding 2 up with the trunk full and a small suit case on top of it. Seriously. That's in the area heading to the Dragon, like the Cherohala Skyway. You gotta not twist it so hard, and make that patented Harley 1600-2400 rpm sound to get better milage. Mine is also bone stock.
