Put a socket on the bolt and make sure its tight. I hit something on the road last year and it knocked the spring off. while replacing the spring i noticed the bolt had backed out a lot and I think that may affect the integrity of the locking mechanism. 2011 R.G. 84,000 miles.

My bike is always in gear when I park and my foot always follows the ks until it stops, then I lean it on the ks. I also roll the bike to engage the gear so there is no roll after I put her on the ks. I have never had any issues.

I could see nothing wrong with the exception of the very weak spring. I'm off on a trip on my other HD at this time and will replace the spring upon my return.
Thanks again.
It happed and you learned from it. How is the spring? Does the jiffy stand retract and snap up to the frame? I recently replaced the spring, $8 at the dealer and it took about 10 minutes. Piece of cake and good insurance.
