Uh oh. New York tough guy alert!!!!!! Hey, we get it. The laws of physics are different in New York. Especially if you are using Royal Purple. Hey! Maybe Royal Purple DOES boil at less than 599 degrees F.

It's not bubbles on the stick its in the oil. And I've checked it after a hard run with a thermometer and yes its boiling. I've torn down Harley motors where the oil was changed ever 5k and some where it was changed every 2-3k and all I can say is there's a difference of sludge build up. Also are you guys forgeting that most oil has a shelf life? Good practice to change it every 3 months regardless of the miles. So before you guys bash know what the hell your talking about please!

You may have checked your oil temp with a thermometer. You may have seen a reading that'll boil water, 212 degrees on a standard day. But refined motor oil boils at almost 600 degrees. You want your oil temps above the boiling point of water so moisture is boiled off.
What's with this 3 month oil change recommendation? My 35 years of riding and wrenching and my 32 years in aviation maintenance say what technical moron told you that was needed?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Motor oil boiling point; Motor oil will boil at approximately 596 degrees, however this will vary with the chemical makeup of the oil, and contributing factors such as sea level, if it is in a Harley Motorcycle, if it is in the State of New York, if it is the color purple and if the rider gets over heated over forum responses.

There you have it straight from Wiki
