I have a 2007 SG with a 113 CI. The current exhaust is a Vance and Hines 2/1 Pro pipe, the bike runs strong through out the rpm range.
I have been wanting a true dual exhaust system with Vance and Hines High Output mufflers for a more balanced cosmetic look.
Any educated guess on the hp/torque loss with this system, if any?
Or you can look into some type of 2-1-2 header like vance and hines power duals, fuel motos header, or fulsac. I run the v&h power duals. Im happy with them. I like the looks of duals better myself so performance wise goin with that type of header was my choice. In theory at least in my head should give a similar performance as a 2 into 1 by creating back pressure in the cross over.
I didn't feel any loss, some gain I think. Went from stock 2-1 With a cat,and SE nightstick, hated the sound ,Changed to an American Custom Bomber, Finally got these S&S Power Tune Duals with V&H 4" Classic turn downs, and a Power Vision tuner. Looks, Sounds, and runs GREAT!
Thanks you all for the responses. To utilize the newer power dual system used on the later models requires that I switch out to a later oil pan, in addition I have a frame stabilizer mounted underneath where the crossover pipe would travel, not a major issue' just more investment and installation time. I am off to Ohio Bike Week on Friday, last year several of the major exhaust vendors were to trying to separate me from my wallet, just maybe...
No not if you buy the S&S Powertune duals. They make them for the older frame. It's the next upgrade on my bike. They will work with your oil pan.
I put them on my '06 Ultra a month or so ago-Love the sound, love the extra power,And gained 3 mpg over the stock header! [running the same v&h ovals I had on the stock header]
Best price I found btw-was on Amazon- about $400 and free shipping.
