Default progressive 944 shocks

Thinking of buying some 944 shocks for FLHX. Need input as whether to buy heavy duty or standard. I am 300lbs and do alot of 2up riding.

You are definitely in the heavy duty (for springs) category!

Have you considered Progressive's latest and greatest HD Shock?
Remote adjust would be nice, just sayin'... Better deals, available.

They suck.....don't waste the money on them. Save up for JRI's or Ohlins. People that comment how great they are have never ridden with the above mentioned.

I've had both and the 944's aren't even in the same league. They're definitely an improvement over the stockers but remember the stockers are such junk it doesn't take much to upgrade from them.

I have the HD and I weight 200 lbs. I can barely make the springs move. 300 lbs and two up your for sure a heavy duty spring guy.

You need the standard spring. Did you buy them brand new? Progressive will switch the spring for free. Just pay shipping.

If you want to send me an email with your info we can get you set up with an RMA # to have your springs swapped out to the softer springs.

I haven't had my wife on the back yet. We'll be about 400 lbs then. That's why I went with the HD springs. You think I would be better off with the standard springs given our two up weight?

What is the turn around time for a spring swap?

I just put a set of 944's with standard springs on my 09 Ultra. No doubt they are better than stock shocks. I weigh 180# and ride solo with tour pack off 90% of the time. I wish they had a softer spring because I still think they are stiff and I can still feel most bumps.
