At the dealer to get a little warranty work yesterday.Thought I would get a stage 1 breather installed while I was there & a new map.Wrong.Dealer says EPA stopped them from doing the remap & I would have to buy a Screaming Eagle race tuner + filter + labor.I figure around $750.00 + dollars.I just bought this `12 FLHTK.I'm not willing to spend that kind of money just to get a better breather.I had a V&H fuelpak on my `07.Wasn't that impressed.I can do the work I'm just at a loss as to which way to go.

Is the exhaust still stock ? If so add the breather ride on. If not look into a power commander or Power vision , there are lots of canned maps for stage 1 bikes that are better than the download from the dealer.

Try another dealer. I live in the most restrictive state, there is, California, and my dealer remapped mine even though I installed a SE Heavy Elite air cleaner my self.

Charcoal Pearl 2014 Street Glide Special
Custom Dynamics red LED's and Dynamic Rings with smoked lenses.
Vance & Hines Monster Ovals. HD Heavy Elite air cleaner.
Precision Billet Darkside floorboards, Derby and Points covers.
Kuryakyn curved license plate holder, Transformer grips.
HD Fork mounted Wind Deflectors. 10" HD Windsplitter windshield.
4 point docking hardware.

Dealer here added a Stage 1 for me less than a month ago, I added the SE breather myself. From what I was explained by a dyno operator the ECM on the 2012 and up bikes self learns so the remap may or may not remain after a few hundred miles as the processor resets to make the best use of fuel for demand. Only way to set a map is to go XIEDs or VIEDs or to add a tuner that stops the processor from going closed loop.

With stock headers you should be fine. What I was told as long as you don't change both a/c and exhaust ( free flowing headers) you don't need a tuner.

The Plug-n-Play FL-XiED-10 richens the Air Fuel Ratio from 14.6:1 to 14.0:1 in closed loop mode. This will help the bike accelerate stronger & smoother, will cool it down a bit, and will compensate for the extra air from the free flowing A/C and Slip-ons.

Today I will order my 2014 SG...going with the K&N filter and backing plate, either the Street cannons or CFR knock offs, maybe the Vance and Hines Power Dual head pipes. Now the Xied or the HD download?
