Has anyone tried to highlight paint the stamped letters on the exhaust shieldss? I have V&H exhaust and there is a good looking logo stamped in the crossover cover. Wondering if I painted it if that would last. Would like a bright color (like red to match bike color or a gold) to offset all the chrome. Thinking of applying the paint then wipe off the high spots leaving the color in the stamped area.
Any thoughts, pros and cons???

 

No one has ever thought about some highlights on chrome? Or painted heat shields? No thoughts or comments??

 

I sometimes repair badges on street rods by injecting model car paint in the badges with a hypodermic needle. They turn out good but on a hot surface like that heat shield? If it goes bad, you've got a mess on your hands.

 

No...never tried it (not my thing), but regular paint won't hold up well to exhaust temps. Maybe try HT paint and bake in...
