Default 2014 FREE Hidden Street Glide Antenna!

I got the idea to hide my antenna from this thread My FREE Hidden Street Glide Antenna!

When I took the seat and bag off my 2014 FLHXS, it looked nothing like what was in the thread. I have updated it. I personally think the modification is easier because you don't have to drill and tap anything. All you need are some tools.

Steps:
1. Take off the antenna
2. Unbolt the bracket
3. Completely remove the antenna mount from the bracket, you will need to remove the grommet from the bracket
4. Attach the antenna mount to the bracket so that it faces towards the front
5. Bolt on the antenna bracket
6. Attach the antenna to the mount and route it up under the seat

Some pictures:

I tried that on mine. The reception was lousy. Others have had good results but mine didn't work.

That works great for hiding the antenna, but it's not for the guy that cares to have it function.

Interesting. After the modification, my radio reception was not affected. Maybe I will notice if I leave the Chicago area.

Did anyone try the Hidden AM/FM/WB Antenna -76000513 ?

There is a reason this works for some and not others.

Living close to bigger cities with strong radio stations, a hidden antenna usually works.
But living in more rural areas where radio stations are farther away that same hidden antenna usually won't work very well.

Found a video on how to to that on You Tube so I did mine. I don't care about the reception though. I use an iPod. I can still get nearby stations.

Makes sense. I live in a big city, but the only station I ever turn on is a low powered one. I'm sure if I tried a different, stronger station it would improve. But, like Izzo, I don't really care. I use an Ipod mostly.

I have the hidden antenna and I have no issue with reception. YMMV, though.

I have the Boom Audio hidden antenna, my reception was not affected by the switch. (and I no longer have to fight that stick through the hole in my cover)

Win Win !
