You said it did NOT come with the mounting bracket (that hooks into the 4-point dock) right?

I'm assuming this is for 09 UP.

 

Correct the mount I have is for 09 & up. You would have to buy the correct mount for your bike. This tour pak would go on a 2007 & earlier bike with the correct mount for that bike.

 

I'm confused now. I have a 2009 SG so if i had the correct mount, the pack can bolt-on to it (the mount) correct? I that's correct, what difference does it make if the bike itself is 2009+ or 2008- ??

 

Ok it goes like this:
2009+ bikes have the new style frame with the wider rear tire and frame.
2008 - bikes have the old style frame with narrow rear tire and frame.
Tour pack will mount to each bike with 2 different mounts.
1 mount for 2009+
1 mount for 2008-
Both mounts with attach to the tour pack in the exact same place.
Both mounts will attach to both bikes in 2 different places due to the frame design.
The mount i have is the one you will need for 2009+ which is part# 53276-09A
