As my reverse motor got worse and worse it lost power to the point that it would barely back up on level ground. When I took it to a local rebuild shop, the guy said the reverse motor had a lot of rust inside the motor housing. He rebuilt it , new brushes, new bushings and a good cleaning inside the case, and now it is good, or better than, new.

We had a Bushtec trailer hooked up to our Harley Davidson FLHTCUTG TRIKE Tri Glide Ultra Classic 2013. The trailer had a bit of a load in it. I tried to back up a little incline and the reverse motor stopped working after about 4'. Searched this forum about the trouble. Found the circuit breaker in the right cover had tripped. Flipped the lever to reset it and the reverse works perfectly again.
Thank you very much for the input. Saved us a bunch of money.

The MotorTrike's reverse was $1200.00 with shipping via Ebay. It was purchased in 2013. www.motortrike.com The labor was approx. $800.00. I used a Indy shop(known them since the 1970) for the installation. I went with MotorTrike since it has a engine cut-off switch in case you accidentally have the reverse and the forward gears engage at the same time.
