Anyone install a back rest on their TG? BOUGHT factory mount and wonder about install

I installed the HD backrest on my 2014 TG. That was 3 years ago but I don't remember any particular problems.
I do recall the process was rather tedious but the written instructions were complete and I followed them methodically.
Read the instructions, make sure you understand what the step entails, work slowly. Only common tools were required, average mechanical aptitude should do the job.

It looks like a good installation instruction. An adjustable backrest is my next purchase.

I applied the tape in the area indicated. I suppose it does keep the metal parts from rubbing a hole in the seat. However, mine only "half-stuck". It is very thick/rigid tape. Half of it has worked itself away from the seat. Fortunately it is below the level of the top of the seat and doesn't bother the passenger.
