Default 2019 Triglide handling in curver

I recently traded my 2017 Triglide to a 2019 Triglide. The 17 had a dk convertible comfort lift and stock shocks and handled exceptionally well in curves. The 2019 is still stock with the new suspension set at around 7. I have noticed though that when hitting turns at a fast pace the 19 front wheel wants to bounce some. Air pressure in front is at 38 lbs and rear at 22. Anyone else notice this problem.

Is that the stock front wheel? My 19 tri-glide came with an MT 90 B16. Handles just fine

Yes it is stock. I am really going in hard when I feel the bounce in the front end. Kinda feels like the front tire skipping a little trying to maintain grip.

I also run 38 in the front and 22 in the rear. I turn off the traction control unless the roads are bad and it handles just fine. I am curious as to why yours has a 19 inch tire and mine has a 16 in tire

I’m sorry. Mine is a 2019 model. It has the stock 16 inch tires. Was in a hurry when I submitted it. Sorry to mislead you.

Never tried turning the traction control off. Will try that. Does it default to on each time you restart the Triglide.

That skipping you describe is "normal" when pushing it hard in the curves.

Did you ever ride your 2017 as aggressively in the curves before it had the Convertible Comfort Lift™?

The Lift will reduce it some, but will still skip a bit when pushed hard, just not as much.

There are a few ways to reduce that front wheel skip-

Go slower

Lower PSI in front tire a couple of lbs

Use a Comfort Lift™

A better front tire, like the Avon Trike tire or a rear tire reversed

I cannot think of any reason why deactivating the Traction Control System would reduce front tire skip.

It is possible that something is awry with your forks. In the pre 2014 models the front tire skip was more pronounced, as they did not have as stout a front fork set up, which resulted in more fork flex, which resulted in more front tire skip when pushing it hard in the curves.

we talked about the 2018 vs 2019 in another thread, and how much better it steers, but we got a DEAL on a 2018 freewheeler.

it's seems "very hard" to steer. is that because the low/sagging 2018 rear creates a bad geometry, and the comfort lift makes the steering easier/better?
the wife is becoming "used to it" but if I run it out to the store or something, it seems very tough to get it to turn.

is the comfort lift the fix for that?

Yes, the slight change in geometry from use of the Comfort Lift™ will make the steering easier.

There is a link HERE with information going into all the detail of how this works.

I saw a significant increase in the handling of my 2017 Triglide after installing the convertible comfort lift. I am pretty sure the suspension on the 2018 is the same as 2017. I kept the lift off the 2017 but have not installed yet on my new 2019. The suspension has been changed and improved on the 19’s. I am waiting on DK Customs test and evaluation of his new 19 before I install it.
