Default Insurance

I have a 2016 tri glide. Of course I have a loan. My question is if I have the trike stored at the dealership would I have to have my own insurance on it. I'm just paying storage insurance but insurance company says I still have to have collision on it.

You should check with dealer insurance company. Just like one sitting in your garage. Something happens like fire or theft your home insurance will not cover the trike, your trike insurance will. So make sure your dealers insurance will cover all claims if you do not have insurance

You need to find if and what the dealer's insurance company will cover, then go from there to fill in any gaps. I would also get everything in writing from the dealer and their insurance company.

When in storage most insurance companies will reduce your coverage to just comp. Collision and liab will be stopped until out of storage. Per my agent at Country Companies.

yes. That is true. But if you have a loan on it....the company that is providing you the loan wants you to keep full coverage on the bike if it is stored or not stored. I live in the Northeast and have my bike stored for 3 months...my loan holder wants me to keep collision on it all the time! Think that is the same for all loan holders.
