I went with MotorTrike's Mechanical Reverse Gear Kit since it has a engine shut off switch in case the reverse and forward gears are engaged at the same time. What I heard, the stock electrical reverse motor is only design to move the trike backward on level ground and for a very short distance. In addition, its location does not help it lifetime.
I thought mine was shot for a short time. Turned out the circuit breaker was just tripped. I thought re setting the breaker was just pushing the red button down till I looked in the owner's manual and learned how to re set it.
Thanks Bubba49. That was it. I also am having a problem with the engine revving up periodically to 1800-2000 RPM when at a idle or creating around at just above idle. Any suggestions? One person told me that it was probably the Idle air valve.
