All this talk over an electric starter reverse motor...Just forget it and go mechanical reverse and be done with it...well that's my plan to fix it once and be done with it...my 15 is paid for and with all the upgrades it's my last Harley...If I ever wear out the 103 I will have the 117 CVO engine installed or maybe a S&S 131 who knows....Be safe...Have fun and RIDE...

 

I have a 2009 triglide and I am hearing the clicking when trying to reverse. Here is what I’ve done

tested to ensure power to reverse control module and breaker then to motor. All is showing I have power. I tripped the breaker to ensure I was testing the correct cable, and it cut the power. So when I reset it with the black lever power tested positive. Then followed the cable down to the motor and there is power there also.

so here is the question. Is there supposed to be power to the motor all the time? Wouldn’t you only have power to the motor when you press the button to engage the reverse. Does it work differently than I’m thinking Or am i testing something incorrectly.
