Hey there everyone. I am looking for some help with a problem of mine. I was riding about a week ago and all of a sudden I noticed the little key light on the speedo. I had no idea why it was on until I tried to use my left blinker. It wouldn't work. I scheduled a appointment at the dealer for warranty because this is a 2007 street glide we are talking about and when it went in they said there was nothing they found. They blamed it on the LEDS or the load resisters I have installed. I have the radiantz led boards with the kuryakyn load equalizers installed and I have never had a problem with them. So anyways I was riding again tonight and I noticed the same thing. The key light came on steady and no left blinker. I was riding a little farther and the blinker went on like warp drive. Like there was no equalizer installed. I shut it off and turned it back on and it blinked at a normal rate. Then the key light came on again, low and behold no left blinker. I check connections to all the boards and checked the load equalizers. I even taped the connections just incase they might have been loose! Can anyone think of what my problem could be with just the left side. Thanks in advance for the assistance!
It does sound like a bad load equalizer. Turn the ignition on and operate the turn signals. Both load equalizers should heat up indicating they are functioning.
I checked them today there is a code stored in the computer and both equalizers get warm with the bike on and the hazards flashing. I think the load equalizers control front and rear and not each side. I am still confused as to what would cause just the left side to intermittently work?
I had the same problem on my 07 street bob.
I think the problem on my bike was corosion on
my fuse box. when I would washed my bike water would collect
in my fuse box. I cleaned the area the best I could and the problem went away. Now when I wash my bike I make sure that I blow dry the fuse box with a leaf blower.
Did you resolve your blinker problem? I had a very similar problem and found it to be wires under my rear fender that had been rubbed bare from bottoming out the bike. IMO, A poor HD design of running wires along the top/center of the rear fender. What else will happen if you ever bottom out. I fixed wires and reran along outside of fender and will never have the problem again.
