Default Boots/Shoes

As my may have surmised - I am new. I have a lot to learn and I ask questions. Here is another one... It seems riding styles have changed over the years. It used to be that heavy boots were pretty common and now it ranges from boots to tennis shoes. I have some preferences in this area but was curious as to a good brand or recommendation to something that seems to do ok with the shifter, etc. Any ideas?

I recently purchased a pair of Bates tactical boots. Reasonably priced, and they’ve stood the test of about 4,000 moles so far. Although not all day hiking boots, they are comfortable for moderate walking.

I still ride with the boots I wore when I was on my two wheeler - Rocky 10" side zip jump boot. Worn this boot for about fifteen years and imo it is hard to beat value wise. It is comfortable, waterproof, easy to get on and off, looks great and offers great protection. Now on a trike you may not think you need the same level of foot protection but should you ever part company with your trike due to a mishap I want all the best protective gear I can get. Many years ago Cruiser Works boots were all the rage with my friends and riding buddies. I had them for several years but found them to be over prices, not a sturdy as I'd like and did not hold up well at all.

Always boot, never sneakers here. The boot choice depends in time of year. Summer I wear my desert boots, cooler weather I wear a heavy pair of Carolina's.

I'll check those out. A bit expensive at first glance.

HD has some that look like a hybrid boot/sneaker combo.

Did you come to Maryville for SMHD or the Dragon?
