Default New guy with question

Hey, guyz,

Got my new '12 TriGlide and now have over 1400 miles on her. Sweet. I installed a Kuryakyn Perfect Storm kit before delivery and have been very pleased with the result of both cooling the TG, and opening up that 103.

I ordered a set of shock lifts and rails for the TourPack from Dennis at tglidestuff.com. I'm not affiliated with this company, just a fan of the quality and great service I got. It's the only other mod I wanted besides the head pipe/muffler/air cleaner/tuner.

These will make my trike ride more level and keep me from dragging those killer Crusher mufflers.

The mechanic I spoke to at the dealer hadn't heard of this mod. Has anyone done this mod, and did the dealer install the shock lifts for you?

It's a super simple job. You just remove the Harley plates and substitute the lift plates. Anyone with a socket set can do it. No reason a dealer couldn't do it. Whether they want to (since you didn't buy if from them and some are touchy about installing parts they didn't sell) is a different question.

Thanks for the reply. I'll "socialize" it with the service manager, and see if he could help. I don't have the stands at my house, and don't want to start buying a garage full of tools.

It's entirely possible that your service manager will tell you that "it will void your warranty". That is the response I got when inquiring about my 2012 TriGlide. And yet some of the "void your warranty" modifications should probably be standard features of our bikes...I'm just saying! Welcome to the forums and enjoy the ride...I do!
