Default Twin cam cylinder head ID?

I know this is an 06 and up head cast in 2016 I believe. Do the other numbers tell me anything?

Is it a 96" head? It has electric compression releases. Assuming unmodified, wouldn't they be 103 heads?

All HD part numbers end in - and 2 numbers. The last 2 numbers represent the 1st Year that part was introduced. So part # 17096-06A tells ya it's for the 1st year of 96" Twin Cam.

There weren't any 96 ci TCs in 06.

I believe it to be a 2016 head. See the 16 with the circle around it.

Max_Headflow You are correct, NO 2006 96" Dyna's. HOWEVER they started producing them in 2006 for assembly on the 2007 96" engines.

The same casting was used on the 2006 88 ci motors as well. I've had both.. So they started in 06 for 06 models.
