Default fp3 for my 2008 cvo 110

Please be patient w/ me on this. I realize that I haven't got a clue about this. So. Here goes... I have '08 cvo springer (110)(presumably stage 1 from factory). I ride relatively easy. No holes shots, or ever go over 70 or 75 mph. I just purchased some very slightly used V&H big shots from a '07 cvo springer. J&P tells me that I will definitely need a tuner. They recommend the FP3, part # 66007. My questions/// Do I certainly need a tuner? Will this FP3 work on this bike? Can a computer- android- moron actually program this thing to function? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks much in advance!!

As you pointed out you have a performance package and tune from the factory. You may want to trying installing the new exhaust and see what the results are before investing in a tuner? You can go with an FP3 or a Dynojet Power Vision. With the FP3 you load an app on your smartphone. With the Dynojet Power Vision, you have an all in one unit so to speak where the tuner sits on the handlebar and you have a screen to access the menu and features. Plenty of tutorials for both here and on YouTube.

Thanks so much for your advise! I did the switch. Couldn't have been easier. 1hr 15 min. start to finish! HOLY FRIEKIN' COW IS THAT SUCKER LOUD! Looks nicer than stock IMO. Took her out for a very short ride ( maybe 1/8 mile). Does seem to pop a little on deceleration. Maybe tomorrow after work I'll get to see what it's like. I'm told there are some "super quiet baffles" available @ $40 each.. But, we'll see.

Excellent... so with the popping on deceleration a tuner will take care of that. You just have to decide which one you want to go with!

I did order the baffles. I'll report after they are installed, and I've put a few miles on 'em. And Thanks again. P.S. Already got a couple compliments.

I just went the other way and removed Rineharts and put back SE Street Cannons. Saving what's left of my hearing

Well. I just received the "super quiet" baffles from JP this aft.. WOW!!!!! They are PERFECT! Nice medium rumble, just right. But! No popping. At all! Hooo Hooo! Bike loves them. Must be a perfect balance of back pressure vs. freeflow. Added power in all 6 gears. Vance and Hines nailed this one! $279.98 total for exhaust and baffles. Whoever the person was that crashed his '07 must have only had them on for a very short while. They look spotless inside and out. The "baffles" that were in it look brand new. When I get a picture, I will post it on " what did you do to your softail today. Yet AGAIN. Thanks for advising me to try before ordering a tuner.
